The Floridita Bar Restaurant in Havana, Cuba was founded in 1817 according to the sign above its front door. It is famous for its Daiquirí, in fact, it claims to be "La Cuna del Daiquirí" or the cradle of the Daiquiri.

Ernest Hemingway was a regular and there is still a spot at the bar occupied by a sculpture of him.

Paula and I went to the Floridita when we visited Cuba. It is right off the square where you can get a ride from the 1940 and 1950 cars that you see in Havana.

The inside of Floridita Bar Restaurant in Havana, Cuba was warm. We were in Havana in August so you would expect it to be warm. We first had to sit at a table before a space came open at the bar.

Floridita Bar Restaurant was busy each time we were there. When we arrived before it opened, there were many people, especially foreigners, waiting for it to open.

Once inside, the Daiquiris were flowing. Their most famous drink was being served by the tray full. We didn't eat there except for some appetizers which were OK but everyone came for the Daiquiris.
